Late morning, Sharney and Waldemar picked up me and Terry for a drive to Constanz where we looked at the “old town”. This is a major tourist area with many shops designed to attract the tourist dollar. There are very few cars as it mainly set up for pedestrians. You can walk on either side of the street to admire the shops. The buildings are old and the streets had large tiles and were sometimes uneven. It was difficult to negotiate by myself and I couldn’t use the SmartDrive, so I had to be pushed.
It
was a very hot day, about 36oC so we were always glad to find some
shade. The old buildings were beautiful
and in good condition. There was a grand
church surrounded by a square where we sat for lunch.
We
returned to Engen via Switzerland
where we drove through some beautiful little villages with classic buildings. It was a picturesque countryside with forests
and vineyards to admire.
