Lyn
and Chris picked us up about 10.45 am and we went for a drive to Varese to find the rowing
course. It was very difficult and we
were not able to find the place Terry was looking for.
We
then drove to Foxtown in Switzerland,
which is a very upmarket DFO type shopping centre. We didn’t have much time but I was very
pleased to find a shirt and a tie for Mark and Terry bought some very good wet
weather gear to wear when it’s raining while he’s coaching. There were so many shops.
We
drove back to Como and experienced some problems
with our GPS navigational aid which Chris and Lyn had nicknamed “Victoria”. She took us around in circles as we tried to
re-enter Italy, but
eventually we figured it out without Victoria’s
help and crossed the border without any problem.
Sharney,
Terry and I had dinner in the Duomo
Square for our last night in Como.
We enjoyed our meal and watched the “passing parade” in front of the
cathedral.
