We
were up early. Terry left early to go
the rowing course. Sharney and I had
breakfast, and then we went with some of the “rowing widows” for a drive in to
the town of Ivrea
to look around. We stopped at a little
café for coffee. The town is very old
with some beautiful buildings as well as a castle. We enjoyed looking at the shops. Many of the shops are closed between 1.00 pm
and 3.00 pm for siesta. The cobblestones
were difficult at times but there were some smooth footpaths. We watched some of the kayaking which was on
a course beside the river.
We
returned to our hotel for a nap then later had drinks with the ladies in the
hotel’s courtyard. When Terry and the
others returned from the rowing, we had a delicious dinner in the hotel’s
dining room.
