We
were up early this morning to go for a day long cruise around Lake Como. We started on ferry named “A. Volta”. The crew were very helpful. We were taken to the front of the queue to
board first. We got a good spot inside
to see through large windows. It was
another glorious warm sunny day so we could see the lake at its best. There were a number of stops along the way as
people got on and off. We enjoyed the
lake scenery, the mountains and the hotels and houses along the lake and on the
mountains, and watching people take advantage of the water – sailing, canoeing,
swimming, fishing, boating and paddle boarding.
We met with Lyn and Chris who had started their cruise on an earlier
boat. We then all got off to look at
Bellagio. This was another beautiful town
overflowing with tourists and lovely shops to explore. The five of us had lunch in a Ristorante
overlooking the water. Terry and I found
a nice spot in the shade beside the lake while Sharney, Lyn and Chris went to
“the Point”, a peninsula with views of the lake all around. The road to that part was inaccessible, too
steep so we rested and enjoyed the view while we waited for their return. We watched people nearby climbing a diving
platform and diving or jumping in to the water.
After they all returned we boarded the next boat that stopped for the
return journey to Como. It was a very enjoyable day.
